Hi, my name is Joana Maltez and this is teeny tiny games.
Teeny tiny games was born out of my love for video games and how that love could fit into my new life as a mother. Every parent knows how much things change when a baby is born. All those hours that you’re used to having for yourself seem to just vanish into thin air. And if you’re used to playing games for several hours, well that’s not going to happen very often after you become a parent.
So, if you’re like me and you still want to play in the few moments you have for yourself, what are you going to pick up? What games fit into your busy life? Those were the sort of questions I found myself facing when I had some time to play for a bit.
I’m a big fan of AAA games but when your time is very limited, those are the kind of games that feel the most daunting to start. Sometimes it can be several weeks until I pick the game back again and by then I have to reacquaint myself with the mechanics, the story, etc.
Luckily, in the last few years, I’ve grown more and more in love with indies. That made it easier for me to find joy in games that were smaller in scale but big in story and heart. So, why not showcase some of my personal favourites and nifty findings with others?
I’m happy to share this with you and I welcome you with kindness.
